Youth Skills - English Speech
Good morning everyone!
Respected Principal and teachers who guide us with care and affection, and my dear fellow students—the buds of today who will grow into the mighty banyan trees and true assets of India tomorrow! Warm greetings to one and all.
Today im going to speak about Youth Skills
Franklin D. Roosevelt rightly said:
"We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."
Same way The revolutionary monk Swami Vivekananda once famously declared:
"Give me a hundred energetic young minds, and I shall transform the face of this nation."
Why did he ask for youth, and not the wealthy or the powerful? Because he firmly believed that the energy to change the world lies hidden in the hands and skills of the young!
Our ancient Tamil literature, Purananuru, beautifully outlines our duties: a mother gives birth, a father makes a child wise, a blacksmith forges weapons, and a ruler guides. But what is the duty of the youth? It says: "To stand fearless on the battlefield of life, break through huge obstacles, and prove one's skill, courage, and capability."
Youth is the golden phase where our body and mind are most active. As the famous proverb goes, "Learning in youth is like engraving on stone"—it lasts forever.
Look at history! King Karikalan ascended the throne at a very young age. Elders doubted if a young boy could deliver justice in complex cases. But through his sharp wisdom and skill, Karikalan delivered a judgment that stunned everyone, proving that "Skill and wisdom know no age barrier!"
Poet Bharathidasan advised us on how youth should live: do not fall into debt, spend carefully, take care of your health, eat good food, and never lose heart when standing up for the truth. Global thinking, personal responsibility, and doing good must be the true identity of a young person.
Friends, do not sit idle saying "It is impossible." Look at the clock—it ticks continuously without worrying. Let us break barriers, rise through hard work, think positive, and conquer the world with love!
Driven by Education, Discipline, Effort, and Time Management, let us build our skills and lead our nation to glory.
